On behalf of the people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic as well as on my own behalf, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency and the people of the Republic of Singapore on the auspicious occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Republic of Singapore.
The Lao PDR and the Republic of Singapore have enjoyed close friendship and good cooperation over the past half-century. I am very delighted to note that bilateral cooperation between our two countries continues to expand especially to the new areas including renewable energy and carbon credit. More importantly, on the area of human resource development, Singapore has been playing a crucial role through providing short and long-term training courses under the Singapore Cooperation Program over the past decades. I firmly believe that our existing relations and good cooperation will continue to flourish in the years to come with an aim to bring about tangible benefits to our peoples as well as promoting peace, stability and cooperation for development in the region and the world at large.
May I take this opportunity to wish Your Excellency good health, happiness and greater success in your noble tasks and the Singaporean people continued progress and prosperity.

This year 2024 marks a historical milestone in the development of our bilateral relations as we jointly celebrate our long-standing friendship and good cooperation over half century, underpinned by strong people-to-people linkages and growing cooperation on various sectors including human resource development, renewable energy, carbon credits, among others. I highly value the successful outcomes of our meetings during my official visit to Singapore on 9th July 2024 as well as Your Excellency’s introductory visit to the Lao PDR on 11th -12th October this year, which has greatly further contributed to the strengthening of our friendly relations especially our mutual trust and understanding. Taking this opportunity, on behalf of the Government of the Lao PDR, I would like to express my sincere thanks the Government of Singapore for the kind support extended to the Laos’ ASEAN chairmanship in 2024. I look forward to continue working closely with Your Excellency to further advance our close partnership and deepen our bilateral ties in the years ahead for the benefits of our two countries and peoples.
